As the CEO of LogicMark, I’m reflecting on what the company’s mission means to me personally, and what the future of our technology looks like. I am part of the sandwich generation, a term all too familiar to those of us balancing the care of both children and aging parents. This dual responsibility isn’t unique to me, but this balance is what first inspired me to look at how technology can better serve the care economy.
Care technology needs to be an ally for everyone, not just seniors and their caregivers. That’s why today, we’re launching Aster, our first standalone software app. We created Aster as a way for users to stay and feel safe at all times, while making it easy to stay connected to loved ones.
I have more than 25 years of experience in the tech industry, and I know that technology shouldn’t be a solution looking for a problem. It should address a problem directly, in a way that respects and understands the human experience. That’s how my journey with LogicMark began: with a goal to bring real, impactful change through innovative and empathetic technology. We built Aster to address this need head-on, and it complements our existing product suite to empower individuals of all ages to navigate their lives more independently and confidently.
Aster allows users to set up automated alerts that are sent to friends and family, and can also contact emergency services directly when needed. It also features the first-ever scheduling system, “Follow Me,” that allows users to connect their mobile calendars and share select events with their friends and family so they are always connected. A bluetooth alert button is also available as an add-on. So whether you’re headed out on a blind date, going for a solo run, sending your child to their first event alone, or your loved senior is going on a hike, Aster truly does bring peace of mind.
Our roots run deep in technology, and we’ve strengthened our efforts by bringing in a new executive team with in-depth tech industry experience. We’re leveraging that expertise to drive innovation in the care economy and address challenges in the wider care economy. Across our entire product suite, we envision a future where technology empowers everyone, every step of the way.
